These were the first wave of creations I have developed using the photographs from the cold store visit. In the photographs I tried to capture a duality between ugly and beautiful. This binary opposition, in my eyes, was not at equilibrium. Therefore I decided to create some sensual prints and videos inspired by the work of Nick Knight & Ruth Hogben in collaboration with Gareth Pugh. The intention was the make the media much more beautiful and possibly, subversively sexual. I have abstracted the photographs down with the intention that when these are showed in gallery, the viewer will have no knowledge about what the original images were. This will allow them to see the beauty and sexual connotations of the pieces without being hindered by the adopted risidual ideas and knowledge of the original ideas, therefore, in my eyes, evening out the artistic duality.
